Exclusive Ballooning Chief Pilot Andrew Holly has been elected as the chairman of the BBAC Competitions Club.
In March 2010 Neil Gabriel announced that he was standing down as Chairman of the Competitions Club and an EGM was arranged for club members to vote for his successor.
Two candidates were nominated for the role and on Monday 30th August at 12 noon Lindsay Muir and Andrew Holly presented their election statements and answered questions posed by the membership.
Following a vote by 50 club members Andrew Holly was elected Chairman. A vote of thanks was given to Neil Gabriel for his ten years of committed service to the club, and Andrew was welcomed to the committee.
In his election statement Andrew said "We need to encourage new pilots, crew and observers into the sport and reduce the cost of competing for everyone. We must ensure the team representing the UK at international events are well equipped to bring back medals. I feel I have the vision and enthusiasm to work with the committee to help achieve this for the membership."
The new committee will meet very shortly to begin planning the 2011 season, and look forward to working with Andrew to move the club forward and increase pilot numbers at all events.
