Exclusive One Two - Again!

Exclusive Ballooning have bagged first and second in the Bristol baloon fiesta 2011 Evening Post sponsored Long Distance trophy - again!

This year chief pilot Andrew Holly finished first pipping Richard Parry into second place. The competition involved flying as far as possible from the event but landing within the boudary of the 172 Ordnance Survey Landranger map.

Richard managed to navigate to within twenty metres of the very extreme corner of the map on the Friday evening setting a seemingly unbeatable score. Andrew landed some twenty minutes later and during his descent to land from 6,000 feet Richard radio'd Andrew to tease him it wasn't possible to do better. Andrew then radio'd back to offer to split the prize money 50/50 at that point or take his chances. Richard declined and was then saddened to see Andrew land with pin point accuracy bettering his score and landing within just three metres from the very corner of the map.

All good natured banter between the pilots who regularly compete against each other in International events, the two pilots have finished first and second in this event twice before. Andrew wins the trophy plus prize money sponsored by the Bristol Evening Post newspaper.

The same two pilots also finished first and second in one of two hare and hound competitions at the event where balloons have to chase a specific balloon and then drop their markers as close as possible to it. Andrew also finished second place on the other hare and hounds, this time to twice world champion David Bareford.
